Relay Control: Trouble-shooting when relay does not activate

  1. TimeIPS clocks load relay rules every few minutes when they check-in with the server. If you have just entered realy rules (or just changed a rule) you must either wait for a check-in or force an update at the clock.
  2. In the event the clock loses connection to the server, the clock will continue to activate the relay rules.
  3. Ensure that the relay device is properly connected to the TimeIPS system. Refer to the Relay examples articles for diagrams.
  4. If the device is connected to channel 1, unplug the relay control from the TimeIPS unit then plug it back in. Channel 1 should close the circuit very briefly, activating the device.
  5. If the relay rules were working and stopped, adjust the clock's network information to set it to a static IP address if there is a relay connected. This will ensure that dynamic lease does not expire prior to the cache updating.
  6. Use keypad service codes or the on-screen menu to test the relays.
  7. Contact TimeIPS support for keypad service codes you can use to close and open the circuit for additional testing purposes.
