The Network Clock is primarily used to clock in and out. The clock also offers a System Menu which can be used to configure the device and access other functions. This article covers how to quickly and fully restart as well as safely shutdown your network clock.
Normally, once a network clock is up and running, there is no need to shut it down or restart it. When moving a clock or changing power connection, the clock should be shutdown first. (If the clock loses power, it is not generally a problem, but in rare cases, configuration and settings may be lost.)
To shutdown or restart the clock in the safest manner, enter the system menu by pressing Enter at the main screen without entering a badge number. Then, go down and select Safe Shutdown.
A Quick Restart will just restart the TimeIPS clocking application. This will cause a re-sync with the TimeIPS server and an update of settings and cache data.
A Full Restart will reboot the entire clock, equivalent to a power-down and power-up. This can be used to force a restart of the networking and all connected devices and components.
