Backup/Restore Offline Punches

The Network Clock is primarily used to clock in and out. The clock also offers a System Menu which can be used to configure the device and access other functions. This article covers how to backup and restore Offline Punches.

In rare cases, a clock may have offline punches that cannot be replayed automatically over the network. This could happen, for example, if the network connection at a facility is having an extended outage, or if the interface on the clock has been destroyed by lightning.

To use the offline punch backup/restore option, there must be offline punches in the clock, and a USB thumbdrive must be connected to one of the USB ports on the clock.  When this is done, open the system menu by pressing Enter without first entering a badge number.  Then, select Offline Punches from the menu.  By selecting Backup, offline punch data will be copied to the USB thumbdrive.  Selecting Restore will read punches from a USB thumbdrive and will put them back into the clock for processing.
