Update Settings at a Network Clock
The Network Clock is primarily used to clock in and out. The clock also offers a System Menu which can be used to configure the device and access other functions. This article covers how and when to Update Settings.
The option to "Update Settings" will force the clock to communicate with the TimeIPS server, reload all clock configuration items and refresh the cache of all employees, jobs, etc. This is useful when:
- A change or addition has just been made at the TimeIPS server, for example, a new employee added, or a badge number changed. The clock will pick up these changes automatically in a few minutes, but using the Update Settings will allow immediate testing at the clock.
- The clock is in offline mode and you'd like to force it to attempt to reconnect to the server.
To access Update Settings:
Press Enter on the main screen without entering a Badge number. Then, on a clock with the default configuration, press enter 3 more times. If the clock is locked, you will either need to enter a badge number and PIN for an employee with full access, or enter the PIN for the clock, set on the TimeIPS server.
- System Menu (aka System Admin)
Press Enter again without a Badge number, or enter a badge number and pin if configured.
