Set Time on Network Clock

The Network Clock is primarily used to clock in and out. The clock also offers a System Menu which can be used to configure the device and access other functions. This article covers how to force a network time sync and fetch time from the master server.

Normally, the TimeIPS clock will automatically stay synchronized with the TimeIPS server's time. In some cases, such as when network ports are blocked, NTP will not operate. When troubleshooting NTP network issues, the Force Network Time Sync option can be used to immediately attempt to sync the time.  There is no feedback after pressing enter on Sync.  To see if it worked, go back to the main screen and look at the time.

If unable to open the correct ports for NTP to operate, it is also possible to have the clock fetch the time using HTTP protocol. For this, select Fetch Time and then Update and press Enter.  There is no feedback after pressing enter.  To see if it worked, go back to the main screen and look at the time. If this is the only way to get time to sync, then the clock should be configured on the TimeIPS Server to use the standard time sync option, not NTP.
